Website Progress

Hrm. So right now I have this. It is not professional it's for fun updated per semester.

watch-nisha.livejournal.com

I plan to launch a website one I get it designed. I have no idea where to host. I plan on building first than uploading, because as long as all the files are in the right place it should look just like the preview.

I want to stress functionality and convenience. I have been looking at designs and i really like the look of this for the first page:

Ofcourse replacing photo of woman, with a pastel drawing that will have a limited very subtle animation (has idea in mind) it'll probably be on black.

I want the screen to stay 1/4 of the size of the user's screen except the gallery pages which can be stretched.

where i the words are i would ideally like to have a very clean drop down menu. Worst case it'll have to be a click and refresh menu or a click go to page with options and the content of the category. I would like the view to be able to make one click to get to exactly what they want. so for portfolio if they want to see sketches then they would go exactly there, instead of having to sift.

The headings will be Home, Bio- standard Bio plus a section for "what am i creating" where i can have a little fun and link a photo gallery of knitted stuff, Resume- also with link for extended list of awards (cuz i like them), Portfolio (divide: Animations, Drawings, Sketches), Contact.

for pages other than home, the navagation bar will move to and inch from the top of the page, and have the same structure as the one on the first page.

The site must have distinct pages so if soem one refreshes a page they will not go back to home. it will refresh to the page they are on.

I have to find the best way to play animations. embedding from youtube is not for my site.
